To love bug; you won’t remember

I have kept a journal for love bug from the day I found out I was pregnant and this is one of my many letters to her.

You won’t remember the happy birthday I whispered in your ear as I cried along with you, wet and warm, wriggling on my chest.

You won’t remember the way you healed my spirit. The way you completed my heart. I was broken before I had you, and you made me whole again.

You won’t remember the way I proudly watched you taste your first food, take your first steps, or say your first word.

You won’t remember the way you made me laugh with your silly carefree attitude, shaking your naked butt around the house.

You won’t remember the way I would brush the hair off of your sweaty forehead and the way you’d look up at me and smile while nursing, shoving you foot in my face for me to nibble your toes.

You won’t remember the tickle fests we had, and how I chased you thru the sprinklers reveling In your laughter.

You won’t remember all the times I went to bed at night and felt all my fears dissolve holding you in my arms breathing in your scent, watching you dream.

You won’t remember the way my heart laughed and cried with every new development. How exciting it was watching you grow but sad knowing we were step closer to my having to let you go.

You won’t remember the way I would hug you extra tight before bed, kiss your forehead and tell you I love you to the moon and back and to have beautiful dreams. How I would sleep in an uncomfortable position to get just a few more minutes of sweet snuggles.

You won’t remember, but I will… Before you are old enough to remember these moments and save these memories I will keep them for you and I will never forget just as I hope you will never forget how much you are truly loved and cherished.
